Poppy and Sam's Wedding at Hadleigh Guildhall, Suffolk

Poppy and Sam’s wedding took place on a brisk October day, just before Halloween. The day began as their friends and families arrived at their chosen venue, Hadleigh Guildhall & Town Hall in Suffolk, which had been decorated with subtle autumnal details. With backgrounds in performing arts, both Poppy and Sam added their own touches to their ceremony – including a solo dance down the aisle for Sam, and a voiceover by Poppy to welcome their guests.

The ceremony was incredibly personal and emotional, with both the bride and groom reading their own vows. The registrars were also a hoot, cracking jokes and making everybody in the room laugh throughout.

After the ceremony, we headed to the back of the venue for a confetti walk, big group photo and some lovely portraits. Back inside, it was time for a delicious afternoon tea, and some of the most emotional speeches I’ve ever seen, with the entire room tearing up. Cake cutting followed soon after, and then there was an hour or so for the guests and couple to just relax and enjoy the garden games. Once Poppy and Sam had spent a little time getting more portraits, we headed into the main hall for the first dance. Their guests spent the night dancing away, and before long it was time for me to head home – but not without sampling the beer that Sam had brewed specifically for their wedding!

Poppy and Sam’s wedding was utterly perfect. Relaxed and full of laughter, it was the type of wedding I absolutely love to photograph, and I got on so well with the couple and their friends that I really felt like I was a part of the day. I had so much fun and am so, so happy for Poppy and Sam! Congratulations!
