About Me

Hi, I’m Sophie (she/her)! If you’ve found your way to this page you’re probably hoping to find out a little bit more about me.

Here are the basics: I’m from a big family of 6, I’m married, I have two cats (Rasputin & LJ), I live in Norwich, and I love cooking, video games (The Witcher 3 is my absolute favourite), creative writing, and photography. I also have a soft spot for the emo music I used to listen to as a teenager, but shh, we don’t talk about that.

I’ve been taking photos since I was little, with my parents forever encouraging me and my siblings to shoot on our little 35mm point-and-shoot cameras. Despite that, my “when I grow up” dream was always to be a writer!

When I realised I wanted to make a career out of photography, I began, as many do, by shooting fashion, and went to university in Norwich to develop my skills. While I was there, I began learning more about feminism, and realised I was more interested in journalism and portraiture. I adjusted my work to focus more on those industries, and that led to me becoming the founder & editor of a feminist magazine called Parallel, which ran for 4 years.

Despite loving journalism and working professionally as a writer and editorial assistant, it still wasn’t quite what I wanted to do. One year, my sister asked me to photograph her wedding, and I absolutely loved the experience. I then photographed a few more weddings, mainly of family and friends, before finally taking part in my first styled shoot!

After building my portfolio, I dove head-first into the world of weddings, and I haven’t looked back since. My busiest and most successful year to date was 2021, where I photographed a whopping 34 weddings, 13 engagement & family sessions, and 5 events & photoshoots! I absolutely love photographing weddings, and combining all of my experience in fashion, journalism and portraiture to create perfect, timeless images.

What’s my favourite kind of wedding to photograph? For me, it doesn’t come down to the theme or the setting, it’s all about the people. When I can truly connect with a couple, that’s when we can make magic! Although you also get bonus points for every floral display you have - I blooming (get it?) love flowers.

Well, that’s me - but I’d like to learn more about you! Whether you’re thinking of booking your wedding with me, looking for advice or recommendations for a wedding, or just want to know a bit more, come say hi and let’s have a chat!
