Claire and Tom's Wedding at Grove Farm/Batemans Barn, Suffolk
Claire and Thomas’ wedding took place on one of the hottest days of the year so far. The day started at the gorgeous Grove Farm in Halesworth, Suffolk, where Claire and her troop of six bridesmaids were preparing for the day ahead and being pampered by Michelle Bennett (makeup) and Stacey Bothamley (hair). On the other side of the property, Tom and the lads were busy putting the final touches into the decorations, whilst ensuring their matching buttonholes, socks and cufflinks were in place.
Once everyone was ready, we made our way over to Batemans Barn for their ceremony, which was being live streamed to the close friends and families that hadn’t been able to attend the wedding. The couple said their vows in an emotional and personal ceremony, before we headed outside for the big group photo Claire and Tom had been preparing for. As everybody got in place expectantly, Tom and Claire announced their pregnancy – and their guests’ shocked faces were captured on camera forever.
After more group photos and some lovely newlywed portraits of the two of them, we were back at Grove Farm, Claire and Tom making their entrance in an amazing (and loud) Jaguar. Their guests mingled and enjoyed canapés, and then took their seats in the stunningly-decorated indoor-outdoor side room for the incredible food that Ministry of Food Hampshire had concocted. Speeches soon followed, and, as the sun began to set, Claire and Tom made their way outside for the first dance amidst the gorgeous golden light – a truly magical, romantic moment.
Entertainment for the evening came in the form of Ben ‘Westy’ Westaway’s dulcet tones, as the couple and their guests danced their way through classic wedding songs alongside some epic rock anthems – including an amazing rendition of ‘Tribute’ that involved Tom singing the part of the demon. The cake cutting followed soon, after which Claire threw her bouquet and myself and videographer Kelly Southby bade farewell.
Claire and Tom’s day was absolutely amazing, and so much fun to be a part of. Full of energy, it was a true party – a welcome change from the strict restrictions and limitations of the past year. Their friends and families were so happy to celebrate their love, and it was just wonderful to see. Congratulations again, Claire & Tom!
