Shuang and Daniel's Wedding at Sprowston Manor, Norfolk

Shuang and Daniel’s wedding took place on a thundery August day at the beautiful Sprowston Manor. The day began with Shuang and her maid of honour getting ready with the help of makeup artist and hair stylist Chloe Winslade, before we headed out for a quick rehearsal of their ceremony.

After getting Shuang into her dress, we were back outside for their ceremony. Shuang walked partway up the aisle with her maid of honour, before Daniel walked with her the rest of the way and they said their vows. The two interlaced traditional Chinese elements into their ceremony, including bowing to heaven and earth (一拜天地), their parents (二拜高堂), and one another (夫妻对拜) as a sign of respect.

After their ceremony it was time for some group and couple photos, narrowly avoiding the impending thunderstorm, after which we headed inside for their banquet and a chance to relax. Once everyone was full, we headed around each table for a toast, followed by the speeches. The cake cutting and first dance followed after, and their guests soon flocked to the dance floor to boogie the night away. After stealing the couple away for a few more couple photos in the dusky post-storm light, I bade farewell.

Shuang and Daniel’s wedding was beautiful, with personal elements scattered throughout. Having married formally the previous year, their day was more of a celebration – and they’d gathered all of their nearest and dearest to commemorate with them. I had so much fun and am so happy for this lovely couple. Congratulations, Shuang and Daniel!
