Bob + Brad's Multicultural Festival Wedding in Reepham, Norfolk

Ahead of their big day, I met up with Bobina and Brad for their engagement shoot. The couple chose Norwich city centre for their location, as that’s where they met and currently live – but unbeknownst to us, the day we chose to shoot was the same day as a huge city-wide food festival! Regardless, we found a spot overlooking the market that was absolutely perfect for what they wanted to capture.

Their stunning multicultural wedding took place in the grounds of Bob’s place of work, Reepham High School. The day began at The Dial House in Reepham, where Bob and her troop of bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done in the salon. After getting some photographs of them getting ready, as well as Bob’s colourful outfit and accessories, I headed over to the school to photograph Brad’s incredible entrance with his groomsmen. Bob’s entrance followed soon after, with her female family members dancing her down the aisle.

Once their traditional Hindi ceremony was complete, there was a short break for the delicious food that had been provided by Namaste Village. Despite the rainy weather, we managed to capture a few couple photographs, before heading to the school gymnasium for their ring exchange ceremony. Afterwards, the guests made their way to the outdoor tents for more food, speeches, and dancing.

Truly unique and personal to them, Bob and Brad’s wedding was one that stuck in my mind for the rest of the year. They successfully managed to combine the traditional elements of both a Hindu and British wedding, whilst also keeping the whole affair relaxed and stress-free. I absolutely loved every moment of it: from the food to the colour to the decorations, it was perfect. My favourite part of the day had to be just before I left, when we snuck outside in the pitch black to grab a rainy silhouette portrait of the two in their Mandup. I absolutely love this photograph and it just goes to show that no matter the weather, there’s always a way to capture some magic.
