May + Jason's Wedding at Cinema City, Norwich

May, Jason and I first met up in late 2019, to chat about their wedding plans over a cup of coffee – and I was immediately excited. Not only did their big day sound amazing, we got on so well and they were also undeniably, inextricably in love. It was beautiful to see, and only became more tangible during their engagement shoot in February where we warmed up at the Castle Gardens before moving into the indoor arcade within the mall. So needless to say, I couldn’t wait for their wedding, which also happened to be my first in 2020.

May and Jason tied the knot at Norwich Castle in the beautiful Colman Gallery, surrounded by works of art alongside their nearest and dearest. Wearing the most stunning Wtoo by Watters gown and holding a gorgeous bouquet from Lily Jayne Florist, May walked down the aisle to join Jason in an emotional, intimate ceremony. Despite the chilly weather, we headed outside afterwards for a couple of group photos and a ceremony exit, before walking down to Cinema City for their reception.

The restaurant at Cinema City had been adorned with a combination of traditional Chinese decorations and little elements that represented their interests and personalities, and a tempting grazing table sat by one of the back windows filled with fresh fruit, veg and cheese. After some more group photos outside and a quick trip around the building for their couple portraits, it was time for a Chinese buffet and a few cheeky drinks. My time at their celebration culminated with the couple cutting into the amazing fresh fruit cakes that had been made by May’s sister Linda.

May and Jason’s wedding was wonderfully intimate and emotional, filled with love, laughter and some seriously good food. I had the best time photographing not only the happy couple but also their awesome friends and family, and I truly wish them the best. Congratulations, May and Jason!
