Part One: Lauren and Tim's Wedding at Croydon Town Hall, London

It’s hard to put into words just how amazing Lauren & Tim’s wedding day was. One couple, two ceremonies, ten outrageous cabaret acts, and a whopping fourteen hours of photography - it was epic. And that’s why I’ve had to split it into two blog posts… it was just too big of a day to fit into one!

The day began with Lauren and Tim getting ready separately at the Hilton in Croydon. It was clear to see from the very beginning of the day that it was set to be colourful and eclectic, with bright colours, stunning handmade paper flowers and the most beautiful details.

Once everyone was ready, I headed downstairs to meet my second shooter Kat Antos-Lewis, and we made our way to Croydon Town Hall with the groom’s party to get ready for the ceremony ahead. Before long we were inside and excitement was in the air, and then it was time for the ceremony to begin.

Lauren walked inside arm-in-arm with Tony, one of her closest friends, and it wasn’t long until the tears were flowing - not just from Lauren and Tim but also from their guests in the room and those watching over Zoom.

The two said their vows, exchanged rings, and were cheered enthusiastically by their guests as their marriage became official. Back outside, it was time for bubbles in place of confetti, some smoke bombs and then a double decker bus ride to their next venue, Stanley Arts in Croydon.

With an amazing art deco/Bioshock theme, the room was decorated to perfection. The couple and their guests enjoyed emotional speeches over Zoom and in person, and after a few toasts it was time for their sit-down meal.

That’s all for part one! Take a look at their photos below (click to view in full-screen):

For Lauren & Tim’s wedding, I opted to shoot using Lomography colour negative film as I wanted the fun, bright colours to be reflected on their 35mm shots! I used my Canon AE-1 and I’m super happy with how the photos turned out - take a look:
